Lectors proclaim the Word of God to the liturgical assembly. The proclamation of the Word of God is truly a ministerial service to the church, therefore should be taken seriously and with great dignity. This ministry is open to those who are fully initiated and whose lives witness to the Word which they proclaim. 

Effective proclamation involves the delivery of the message with clarity, conviction and appropriate pace. Training is available for those who are interested in becoming lectors.
