Welcome to the Holy Family School Web Site.  Holy Family is located south of Plainfield in the city of Shorewood.  We are a Catholic grade school serving the needs of our community from three-year old preschool through grade eight.  Our program consists of daily religion, math, language arts, social studies and science.  Art, physical education, computer skills and music are taught once or twice a week.  We are blessed to have 16 acres of land for the children to play on and a full playground filled with wonderful equipment for gross motor development.  Presently, we have been at our new location for 9 years.  A hot lunch is offered on a daily basis, along with special lunches provided by our Home and School Organization.  Volleyball and basketball begin in fifth grade, as does flag football.  This is our first year to have a baseball team and we are really excited about the new edition to Holy Family's sports program.

Holy Family is a school dedicated to meeting the diverse learning needs of its students.  Parents are recognized as the primary educators of their children and form a strong bond with the classroom teachers to create a positive environment for learning.  We recognize that each child is on an educational journey, and not a race.  As a result, ancillary programs are offered such as:  Young Rembrandt’s Art program and Mad Scientists program.  Algebra is taught in eighth grade for students meeting the criteria.   Spanish is taught in seventh and eighth grade, twice a week.

The staff of Holy Family is very qualified, with many years of experience.  Teachers continuously work toward higher levels of education by enrolling for graduate course work.   The computer lab has brand new equipment and technology is integrated in all subjects.   All aspects of Holy Family work toward creating a 21st century education for the students.

We are excited to put into action a new reading program, Leading to Reading.  The primary readers will be divided into 13 skill levels that will build on the skills they will need to know to become fluent independent readers.

Holy Family is blessed to have resource teachers who are available to work with our students to strengthen or enhance their skills.  We are always looking for new educational opportunities to keep our students prepared for the global society.

The warm, welcoming aura of our school is something we are all proud of.  The pride we have in the academic achievements of our students and accomplishments of our athletes infuses our school.  Holy Family offers families an opportunity to become members of a vital, growing community, focused on the teachings of Jesus, Our Lord.  We are grateful for the gifts bestowed upon us this past year and continue to seek the grace of our Lord.
